Autastic Social Club gatherings are:

  • Scheduled each month on the FIRST FRIDAY at 1PM PT to allow simultaneous participation from every time zone. This may be very early or very late for some but still during common waking hours.
  • Drop-in/out over 2 hours.
  • Facilitated and loosely structured to help discussion flow freely.
  • Open to anyone who is questioning your autistic status, self-identified, or formally assessed.
  • Participants who are members of the dominant culture are expected to be actively engaged with anti-racist work as Autastic centres members of groups historically marginalized on the basis of race.
  • Accessible to most via AI-powered captioning.

FAQ

This is 100% social time. This space is for us to relax, have a laugh, and get to know others who experience life in familiar ways. No lessons. No homework. No pressure.

Your first three months of live events are *FREE* to attend. On the fourth month, your membership fees will begin. All fees directly fund the cost of maintaining Autastic. You’re free to cancel at any time (contact-free!)

Autastic was founded by me, Diane. In everything I do, I strive to put melanin first. My identities include being a multiply invisibly disabled, #AuDHD, biracial Black woman. I approach everything in my life through an Afrocentric, disability justice-informed lens.

Even though I have facilitated group discussions and workshops for 15+ years and am formally educated in inclusion and accessibility practices and trauma-centred approaches, Autastic remains #ByUsForUs. Every member co-creates the experience we wish to have. It takes a village.

We are a “come as you are” community so however you arrive is brilliant. Take breaks. Hang in the chat. Build that model plane you’ve been working on. It’s all good. Participate as you feel comfortable.
Pro tip: pets are always welcome.

Autastic clubs are your social time. Skip some events or just hang out off-camera. Make the most of your membership in ways that work for you.

Community is a gift to ourselves and many of us make it the one priority every month we look forward to. If you can’t make it? You can still feel good about supporting an experience of belonging for others. Win!

Wondering what’s okay to say or if someone’s crossed a line? All Autastic communities follow one core set of values and one shared code of conduct: The Autastic Community Guidelines.

WHAT MEMBERS ARE SAYING

It was new for me to be in a social situation and realize that however I showed up was okay. I really enjoyed that. Thank you!

Katy P.* / Autastic Social Club Member

I’m self-diagnosed and overall, I think this group is a haven for those of us who don’t fit elsewhere and are just getting to grips with the idea that autistics come in all shapes and sizes.

Michele W.* / Autastic Social Club Member

I really enjoyed being in a social club with like minded people and of course people who are in the ASD family. Thank you!

Maddie S.* / Autastic Social Club Member

I’ve never felt safe speaking up in other spaces but here I do.

Sovann B.* / Autastic Social Club Member

Gotta say, this is the best group I’ve had the pleasure of being part of.

DeShawn F.* / Autastic Social Club Member

My self esteem has improved drastically since realizing I’m autistic and joining this group. I accept myself as exactly who I’m supposed to be instead of feeling “broken”. I’m so much happier with myself.
